I was Born without a Butthole (Constipation 101)
I’m dead serious, I came into this world without a butthole. I popped into the World (2 months early so I wasn’t fully developed), the doc checked me out, and quickly whisked me away to surgery to “create” a butthole. On the way there I farted and the skin hiding my butthole flung off and the surgery was cancelled.
Why am I telling you this story and saying butthole 47 times?
Because I have had pooping issues since birth. SO I’m kinda pro at fixing constipation. JK I still struggle with it but I’ve picked up some tips along the way.
Here are my best tips to handle constipation:
Magnesium
Calm magnesium powder is a life saver. It softens your poop and doesn’t make you cramp.
There’s also a pill by Kim Snyder that’s amazing. It’s like the turbocharge of the Calm powder and still no cramps!
Coffee
Coffee is a natural way to your colon and intestinal muscles to contract so it can help most people go! I use a Keurig and love Bulletproof coffee!
Shakes
Idk if this is just me but whenever I have a shake in the morning I always go soon after. Do you want to know what I put in my shakes? Let me know on my last post on @PrettyAF_com on IG.
Squatty Potty
I think this is a must-have for anyone. Trust me, use this and your poop will be coming out like a kid on a water slide at Wet&Wild.
Don’t Wait too Long
Being constipated hurts A LOT. Don’t wait too long before you start implementing something to help when you haven’t gone in a while. I try to take magnesium every other day but if I don’t go one morning I’ll usually take it 3 days in a row until I’m back to normal.
Move your Body
Exercise helps so much! Moving naturally triggers your bowels to move too. Should I do a post on my favorite exercises? Let me know @PrettyAF_com on IG!
THINGS TO AVOID
These are all the things my doctors told me to do before I found the above...I wouldn't recommend these to anyone.
Smooth Move Tea
Unless you want cramps that make you want to die...avoid this.
Dynamite (aka Liquid Magnesium Citrate)
Same as the above...do this if you want crazy cramps plus those shaking cold sweats.
Enemas (the drug store kind, not coffee enemas)
This works in a pinch but it's painful and doesn't actually fix the issue.
All the things they gave me as a kid were so painful. Like obviously the doctor never had constipation or he wouldn’t have given me those things. The things I’ve listed above will not cause you to have cramps or that crazy sweating shaking thing. You’ll just poop like a normal person!
You're ready to poop like a pro!
Follow these tips and constipation will be an issue of the past!
